12.08.09 Christmas Party at the Rudland's

A big thank you to Bill and Kathrin Rudland for hosting the 2009 Holiday Party of the Greensboro Writers' Guild in their lovely home.

The weather outside was frightful, but the festive mix of food, friends and hospitality inside was delightful!

Great turn out by all!

The annual November 4th Reading Program of the Greensboro Writers' Guild was made even more special by a visit of the group's founder, Jane Hoover.

Jane read four selections of her poetry as part of the program. Mrs. Hoover and 19 other members of the Writers' Guild wowed a crowd of 57. The program was held in the upstairs banquet room of the Yesterday Cafe. Jane and her husband, Ron, now reside in Durham, North Carolina.

Each person attending the event received a complimentary copy of the group's Volume XI booklet entitled, "Portraits."

Great job, one and all,

The Greensboro Writers' Guild is excited about it's newest publication, Cooking Wild With Writers, Poets, and Friends. Centered exclusively around wild game and fish and hot off the press, look for it on the shelves of Lake Country shops in the very near future. Filled with stories and recipes from the writers, their families and friends from the community, across the country and the world, it is a long-awaited accomplishment.

The Greensboro Writers' Guild continues to grow and excell; 2009 was a year of happenings. What will 2010 bring?

Remember, if you can dream it; it can happen!

This book would be a great keepsake or given as presents and Christmas gifts for friends and relatives.

Thanks go out to editors, Dr, Davis Temple, Joan Ungerleider and Kathy Wright and to Amanda Church of Nytshadow Designs for the graphic design work. Finally, thanks to all the contributors to this book.
